Roughly one year ago, I chided those UVSC students who had the temerity to sport BYU attire on campus with the article "On the lookout for UV zoobies." The tone was that of chastisement, and I meant to stir up a renewed sense of the duty that, ideally, comes with proper school pride.

This presidential election has seen candidates sparring on many different issues, but the national debt has not been one of them.

As the newest members of our student body begin their journey at CSU, I feel obliged to share with them the fundamental lesson all freshmen should learn: How to have great fun without drinking.
WAIT! Don't go anywhere. It's true. There are loads of shenanigans to be had without dealing with disciplinary action from the university, MIPs or worse.

According to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Virginia are all considering legislation that would allow people to carry concealed guns on campus-a right that people on Utah's college and university campuses already have.

It's safe to say that binge drinking has become a part of life for many college students. More than 44 percent of college students show symptoms of alcohol abuse or dependence, according to a study performed by Harvard School of Public Health. In July, more than 100 university presidents around the nation launched the Amethyst Initiative, "amethyst" coming from the Greek word meaning "not intoxicated" Members of the Initiative include presidents from Duke, Dartmouth and Johns Hopkins.
